Advanced General Chemistry

Brooke Johnson · Smith College

This course is for students with a very strong background in chemistry. The elementary theories of stoichiometry, atomic structure, bonding, structure, energetics and reactions are quickly reviewed. The major portions of the course involve a detailed analysis of atomic theory and bonding from an orbital concept, an examination of the concepts behind thermodynamic arguments in chemical systems, and an investigation of chemical reactions.

Fundamentals of Biochemistry IV - Special Topics

Henry Jakubowski and Patricia Flatt · LibreTexts

In Volume V, we present two types of assessments for use by instructors and students. Literature-based Guided Assessments (LGAs) contain problems derived from the research literature. They are designed to help students read and understand the chosen research paper. The questions in the LGAs integrate many areas of biochemistry represented across many chapters in a biochemistry textbook. Molecular modeling tutorials and problems are provided to help students create their own, web-based molecu

Chemistry and the Environment: A Chemistry Perspective for discussion of Environmental Issues

Devin Latimer · University of Winnipeg · 2020

Chemistry and the Environment is designed to accompany a one-semester course in chemistry-based discussions of important environmental issues such as air pollution, the ozone layer, climate change and water quality. Chemical principles are introduced, followed by environmental ‘focus’ sections to base discussions on the scientific principles and societal intricacies of the individual topics. Instructors can also use the focus sections as a resource for presentation slides. Chemistry 2e is designed to meet the scope and sequence requirements of the two-semester general chemistry course. The textbook provides an important opportunity for students to learn the core concepts of chemistry and understand how those concepts apply to their lives and the world around them.
