Skynet for Social Justice

Christina Branson, Robert Ian Jones, Jon Parrish Peede, and Summer Boyd Vertrees · LibreTexts

Skynet for Social Justice is a book designed by in-the-trenches composition instructors designed to start conversations about how we can frame discussions about generative AI through a social justice lens. Too many conversations about the effects of generative AI in the classroom focus on either cheating or skills acquisition. To counter these mercantile trends, this book provides a number of example lesson plans for formative discussions about the rhetorical uses generative AI might be put to.

Real Analysis

Real Analysis

Eugene Boman & Robert Rogers · Pennsylvania State University & SUNY Fredonia

The typical introductory real analysis text starts with an analysis of the real number system and uses this to develop the definition of a limit, which is then used as a foundation for the definitions encountered thereafter. While this is certainly a reasonable approach from a logical point of view, it is not how the subject evolved, nor is it necessarily the best way to introduce students to the rigorous but highly non-intuitive definitions and proofs found in analysis.
