System Design for Uncertainty
Franz S. Hover & Michael S. Triantafyllou · Massachusetts Institute of Technology
This text covers the design, construction, and testing of field robotic systems, through team projects with each student responsible for a specific subsystem. Projects focus on electronics, instrumentation, and machine elements. Design for operation in uncertain conditions is a focus point, with ocean waves and marine structures as a central theme. Topics include basic statistics, linear systems, Fourier transforms, random processes, spectra, ethics in engineering practice, and extreme events.

Electric Circuits II Alternating Current
Tony R. Kuphaldt · Bellingham Technical College
AC is produced by generators in power stations and can be found in homes, radio equipment, car alternators, and even synthesizers. AC voltage has several advantages over DC voltage (generation and transmission, transformer voltage increase / decrease, electromagnetic emissions, etc.), but the analysis can be more complex, involving imaginary numbers, phasor diagrams, Laplace transforms, and even second-order differentiation equations (oscillators).

Electric Circuits V - References
Tony R. Kuphaldt · Bellingham Technical College
There will occasionally be situations where you find yourself needing an uncommon component or equation. Maybe you, like many others, just need a conversion chart for a resistor value or wire color codes for power distribution cables. Here you will find many references for situations such as these, ranging from DC circuit equations and unit conversions to derivatives and troubleshooting techniques.

Electric Circuits III - Semiconductors
Tony R. Kuphaldt · Bellingham Technical College
Semiconductors are materials that exhibit electrical behavior somewhere between that of insulators and that of conductors. Conductors present very low resistance to the flow of current, whereas insulators conduct very little current even when a large potential difference is applied. A semiconductor exhibits intermediate conductivity because it has more available charge carriers than an insulator but fewer than a conductor. Examples of semiconductors are silicon and germanium.

Electric Circuits I Direct Current
Tony R. Kuphaldt · Bellingham Technical College
Modern life could not exist if it were not for electricity and electronics. The history of electricity starts more than two thousand years ago, with the Greek philosopher Thales being the earliest known researcher into electricity. But it was Alessandro Volta who created the most common DC power source, the battery (for this invention the unit Volt was named after him). Direct current (also known as DC) is the flow of charged particles in one unchanging direction (most commonly found as electron

Electric Circuits IV - Digital Circuitry
Tony R. Kuphaldt · Bellingham Technical College
Every aspect of our lives is increasingly becoming integrated and connected by the Internet of Things (IoT), which consists of computers and embedded systems. These devices are controlled by software which at its core is Boolean logic in conjunction with digital information. The world around us is analogue, but with every passing day our interaction with the world is becoming more digital and more integrated.

Trigonometry and Single Phase AC Generation for Electricians
Chad Flinn · British Columbia Institute of Technology
To understand electrical theory, it is important to have a grasp of trigonometry. Whether we are talking about single phase or polyphase power, trigonometry is a key concept. This textbook, divided into three sections, provides easy-to-understand and enjoyable lessons on trigonometry, vectors and AC generation for those training and working as electricians.

Structured Electronics Design: A Conceptual Approach to Amplifier Design
Anton Montagne · TU Delft Open · 2023
Many people consider analog electronic circuit design complex. This is because designers can achieve the desired performance of a circuit in many ways. Together, theoretical concepts, circuit topologies, electronic devices, their operating conditions, and the system's physical construction constitute an enormous design space in which it is easy to get lost. For this reason, analog electronics often is regarded as an art rather than a solid discipline.

AC Circuits
Chad Davis · University of Oklahoma Libraries · 2017
This eBook was written as the sequel to the eBook titled DC Circuits, which was written in 2016 by Chad Davis. This eBook covers Alternating Current (AC) circuit theory as well as a brief introduction of electronics. It is broken up into seven modules. Module 1 covers the basic theory of AC signals. Since only DC sources are used in the first eBook, details of AC signals such as sinusoidal waveforms (or sine waves), square waves, and triangle waves are provided. Module 2, titled AC Circuits Math Background, covers the mathematics background needed for solving AC circuit problems. The background material in Modules 1 and 2 are combined in Module 3 to solve circuits with AC sources that include resistors, inductors, and capacitors (RLC circuits).
