Programming Fundamentals - A Modular Structured Approach, 2ed.

Kenneth Leroy Busbee and Dave Braunschweig · LibreTexts

The goal for this text is to make it programming-language neutral, so that it may serve as an introductory programming textbook for students using any of a variety of programming languages, including C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, and Swift. Programming concepts are introduced generically, with logic demonstrated in pseudocode and flowchart form, followed by examples for different programming languages. Emphasis is placed on a modular, structured approaches.

Mechatronics: Fundamentals, Design, Integration, and Validation

Guoming Zhu · Michigan State University

This book will be used for both undergraduate and graduate level mechatronic system courses. The intension is to cover contents ranging from mechatronic system modeling and control to specific mechatronic system hardware including sensor, actuator, and microcontroller. Two mechatronic system examples will be introduced as examples for the class lab sessions; they are mini-Segway and three-wheel cart mechatronic systems.

Introduction to Electric Power Systems

James Kirtley · Massachusetts Institute of Technology

This text is an introductory subject in the field of electric power systems and electrical to mechanical energy conversion. Electric power has become increasingly important as a way of transmitting and transforming energy in industrial, military and transportation uses. Electric power systems are also at the heart of alternative energy systems, including wind and solar electric, geothermal and small scale hydroelectric generation.

Electromagnetic Field Theory: A Problem Solving Approach

Markus Zahn · Massachusetts Institute of Technology

This text is an introductory treatment on the junior level for a two-semester electrical engineering course starting from the Coulomb-Lorentz force law on a point charge. The theory is extended by the continuous superposition of solutions from previously developed simpler problems leading to the general integral and differential field laws. Often the same problem is solved by different methods so that the advantages and limitations of each approach becomes clear.

An Introduction to Matlab and Mathcad

Troy Siemers · Virginia Military Institute

This textbook, or really a “coursebook” for a college freshman-level class, has been updated for Spring 2014 and provides an introduction to programming and problem solving using both Matlab and Mathcad. We provide a balanced selection of introductory exercises and real-world problems (i.e. no “contrived” problems). We include many examples and screenshots to guide the reader. We assume no prior knowledge of Matlab or Mathcad.
