Seven Sketches in Compositionality: An Invitation to Applied Category Theory
Brendan Fong & David I. Spivak · Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Category theory is a relatively new branch of mathematics that has transformed much of pure math research. The technical advance is that category theory provides a framework in which to organize formal systems and by which to translate between them, allowing one to transfer knowledge from one field to another. But this same organizational framework also has many compelling examples outside of pure math. In this text, we will give seven sketches on real-world applications of category theory.

Frameworks for Academic Writing
Steve Poulter · Newman University
This text is quite different from any other textbook or writing system. First, it is designed for a wide range of writing abilities, from beginning to expert academic writers. Writers who are simply unfamiliar with academic writing patterns benefit from sentence-by-sentence templates, prompts, tutorials, and examples. We have successfully applied the system to all academic writers, from 3rd-graders to dissertation writers. Secondly, the book is designed for a wide range of teaching abilities.

Thinking Rhetorically: Writing for Professional and Public Audiences
Roger Williams University Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition · Roger Williams University Open Publishing · 2020
Thinking Rhetorically: Writing in Professional and Public Contexts is dedicated to introducing students to a lifelong commitment of engaging with these problems that matter. As an academic discipline, Writing Studies’ contribution to engaging with problems can be applied to all areas of study and to all types of problems because we focus on the way language itself—discourse—is created and exchanged in the service of engaging problems. Writing Studies deepens students’ rhetorical awareness of how the ongoing conversations between groups of people shape and express the problems that matter.
